1 YEAR BLOG ANNIVERSARY

Today is my first year blog anniversary! Time flies. I have enjoyed this first year very much thanks to all of you out there. I want to thank you all for your comments, your inspiration, your advices,... I am looking forward to many more years of sharing, swaps, BOM, ...

Today I will show your a red and white quilt I made in 2004. It was my second or third attempt at machine quilting as you can see in the last border! If I were to make this quilt again I think I would quilt feathers in the border.

Another problem with that quilt is that I had used some swatches of fabric samples which were too small to wash and so it bled when I put some water on it to withdraw the marking. Now I am afraid of washing it at all!

My first socks from the toe up are finished! Here they are modelled by their owner, my DH. He seems quite happy with them and said they were very comfy.
Well he´d better or he won´t get any more!

I found the pattern for the Diamond waffle socks at KNITTY. The heel was a bit tricky but now the penny had droped and I can imagine knitting more socks that way.

I am off to my quilting group! I wish you a very nice end of the week.

Hi Gwen, Any time I wash a new quilt that I even "think" may bleed I use a color catcher, they are part of the "Shout family products. You can usually find them with the detergents or at least close by. Since I started using them I have never had anything messed up. They are great to have for whatever you may be washing . Try them I think you will be as amazed as I was!

Happy Blogiversary! You are a very talented woman, if that is one of your first tries at machine quilting. Did you mark that pattern first? I couldn't dream of achieving that on machine quilting yet!

The socks look great!! Need to get back to knitting, but with health issues with my parents, I have mainly been quilting...don't have to study patterns for that, just stitch!

Those socks are beautiful. My knitting came to a halt last night because I need a different needle size. You're a natural at machine quilting. Just to have the nerve to attempt those designs in the beginning is impressive.

Congrats on the one year blog anniversary! I love that little red and white quilt -- you might try color catcher sheets and/or using some retayne to wash it. Though, if you don't need to, why tempt fate?

LOVE those socks as well -- they do look warm and cozy!

Happy Blogiversary Gwen! Good luck with the bleeding on your little quilt -- if you can find the shout color catcher, it will probably be the best product to use! I love the heel on the sock you made -- very pretty!

Congratulations on your blogiversary. Like the red and white quilt, good comment by quilt memories, those colour catcher sheets are advertised on TV at the moment. I have just started knitting my first pair of socks, it's quite addictive.
