MORE ... OF EVERYTHING!

I am very glad this week is over. I am working more than usual at the moment and that involves getting up early ( between 5.00 and 6.00 PM) which makes me tired for the rest of the day.
But I am glad of the extra money of course!

Anyway, in between I sewed some more " confetti" blocks. I like very much sewing those. It is fun mixing scraps and seeing the effect. As usual I try adding some "difficult" fabrics to make it more interesting.
Yesterday I bought a new cutting mat, so the 40 blocks left to sew should go in a breeze!

Of course I spun some more yarn too. This skein is a 3-ply of Blue-faced Leicester mixed with some local breed and bits of colour wool. The BFL makes it very soft and fluffy. I have to fondle it every time I walk by!

And that is what I am spinning now. The roving was given to me by Selana (thanks a lot again!).
It is merino (I think) and I am trying to spin wool for socks out of it. It feels very soft and it easy to spin.

I can´t wait to finish it.
But at the week-end I plan to dye some yarn and cook some strawberry jam so I don´t know how far I will come.

I wish you a wonderful week-end too with nice weather (that we are having at the moment).

That yarn looks so ultra soft I can almost feel it.

Need to tell you Gwen that I cast on your yarn to knit some socks, as I was finally sock-free and ready to make another pair. And it's knitting up BEAUTIFULLY. I've only just done the rib but it feels so nice and I'm loving the colour. Pictures will be forthcoming. :-)

Helloooooo, Gwen, you buzzzy, buzzzy bee ! ;>)
Well, it looks like you're aaaalways inspiring me, dear, and you "trapped" me again, LOL : from the moment I saw these lovely confettis blocks, I just can't get them out of my mind. There you are again with another bright idea ! How can you do this to me dear ??? HeeHee....
Now, this is such a clever way to use all those scraps, indeed.
Although I can imagine this is not a very complicated block to achieve, yet I still can't figure how to proceed exactly ?!
Is there a special pattern you're referring to ? Could you eventually email me some details and instructions, pleazzzzzzze, dear ?
I know this is not the first time I'm asking for your kind help... but it's all your fault! LOL
Seriously, I'm ready to send you some pretty nice fats for your patience with me, and your helpful friendship ;>)

THANKS, Gwen ! Have a lovely Sunday afternoon, dear....

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO
NADINE

I love each and every block, isn't it funny how a not so pretty fabric by itself looks fantastic within a block? I can see why you love to make these, they are great.

Could it possibly be strawberry jam time again? I recall your jam from last year. How wonderful for you! and what a surprise I've been reading your blog that long

I do like that fuzzy yarn. I'd like to try my hand at a fuzzy pink sweater (I don't know why pink), but I'm afraid because I can only barely read "knit". I've been thinking I'd get one of those "how to knit a sweater for dummies" books, and then hunt out the yarn.

These days DH is a better knitter than I am, if you can believe that.
