Lucy´s stars

I made this wall hanging after having seen the one Lucy made.

It was a good occasion to use some of my reproduction fabrics.

I quilted that one by hand and unfortunately the marking didn´t come off the white fabric. I washed, bleached to no avail. But the fans were great and easy to quilt. After being washed, the quilt wrinkled a bit to get that old look which I like. The back was a special fabric I bought in Paris but as I had only got 50 cm (20 ´) or so (it was very wide, perhaps for bedlinen or curtain), I had to piece it.

It snowed here yesterday but it didn´t stay and I was not fast enough to take some pictures!

Hi Gwen, thanks for visiting my blog! I love your 'Lucy's Stars'. Especially how you did the label on the back with the girl from the backing fabric - it looks so pretty.

The reproduction quilt is gorgeous as is your quilting. Can't wait to get your siggie! I, too, cannot function if I don't get into my sewing room at least once a day.

What a beautiful quilt! The quilting stitches look wonderful and I can't see any markings at all in the photos. Perhaps they'll fade with time, no worries.

Hallo,
Sabine

Your quilt turned out beautifully. Don't working about the marking, I've seen antique quilts that still have pencil marks and that doesn't matter at all - they are still marvelous.
