Bag 2

Well, it seems that you like bags out there. So here is another one. I bought in a discount supermarket a cheap bag with an ugly synthetic lining and that is what I made of it. I got the idea from a japanese magazine and used some more of my dress, trousers, shirts fabrics and some japanese as well. Inside I used a Laura Ashley fabric and I put two pockets, one with a zipper. Unfortunately we don´t have any Laura Ashley shops anymore in Germany, maybe it is better for my credit card!

The bag is hand appliquéd and hand quilted.

Yesterday we had a wonderful meeting at our local guild. We were over 130 ladies and had a long and beautiful show and tell. Unfortunately I had forgotten my camera. As soon as someone else puts some pictures on the web, I will put a link. There were a lot of gorgeous bags as well!
Thank you for all the nice comments on my first bag, there are more bags to come. Did I tell you that I love making bags!?
Update:
Bea has put some pictures of the guild meeting on her blog. Thank you Bea!

What a great idea to use another bag as a base. I miss being able to buy Laura Ashley dress fabric - since they moved their manufacturing abroad you can't buy the dress fabric here. I do look out for old Laura Ashley dresses in charity shops though, and I cut them up for patchwork.

WOW! you're quite creative! I love it! Hum.... I've go some Amy Buttler fabric that would make a great bag. Trade you for a pair of sock! lol Keep well! Thanks for visiting my blog.

Sabine

How clever! I love decorating/planning a bag but the construction part always puts me off! I wish there had been quilt guilds in Germany when I lived there. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

That bag is darling! I love your scrappy daisies. I might need to borrow that idea. Your students quilts are lovely. That is a neat project.
