Today I will show you a four hand quilt: my mother (another patchwork and quilting addict) made the center and I added the borders and did the machine quilting. The quilting thread doesn´t show that much in real, it is an off-white but I manipulated a bit the picture so that it shows better. The pattern is from Bonnie at Quiltville.
Thank you Bonnie! The occasion for this quit is my aunt´s 60th birthday.
She will have a big party in September in Paris and the whole family is invited. A great occasion to meet all the people one doesn´t see so often.
The back of the quilt is pieced on purpose. Well actually I didn´t have enough flower fabric but then I thought that to put a white piece in the middle will enable all the guests to sign as a souvenir.
On Friday I am going to the CREATIVA, a huge hand craft fair in town. I hope I won´t have to take my wallet out too often!
To answer some questions after the last post: The sampler with the set-in stars was made mainly out of japanese fabrics but I added some dress fabrics as well as they are not so expensive!
I don´t know any book from Sharyn Craig, I had a look at Amazon and it seems she does a lot of traditional stuff, so the red and white sunflower could have been from her. I found the pattern in an Australian Patchwork and Quilting Magazine, another great source for traditional Patchwork.

The quilt is lovely. Your aunt will be so happy with it. And to celebrate in Paris, it couldn't get much better than that!
that's a lovely quilt. I'll have to check Bonnies site to see how to make it. Hope the party will be great.
Wow!! It's stunning, your aunt will absolutely love it. Très beau!
What a brght and cheerful quilt - and the white patch on the back for signatures is an inspired touch.
Your quilt is beautiful. Anyone would be happy to get that for a gift.
Hello, your little sister again. I am sure tata Daniele will love it. I will just have to buy something and pretend that I made it!! And how about my throw, any news!!!!!! (private joke!!) I am sure Gwen will explain anybody who is interested!

This is a wonderful quilt! Wow!
I think it could give me some inspiration for my nine-patches... I'm still pondering and searching for "that certain something" ! Oh Gwen, I also wanted to tell you that I adore your red/beige quilt you have shown in Bochum. I saw it on Bea's blog! I love the colors! I think I will put this quilt on my "to-do-list"......
Beautiful quilt, and such a great idea to have a place for everyone to sign on the back. I'm sure she'll love it!

The quilt for your aunt is lovely. I'm a big fan of pieced backings myself and I love the idea of leaving spaces for signatures.
Thank you for your kind comments on my blog -- it's great to hear from other quilters. Enchante a fair votre connaissance. (and I will not torture you with any more of my school girl French, but I just couldn't resist!)
How absolutely magnificent. Your aunt will be overcome with joy getting a quilt like that, how special too that it's coming from you for her. Almost like enveloping her in a big hug every day that she snuggles up in it.
Beautiful quilt and what a fabulous gift. I love your idea for the signatures too ...
Your aunt's quilt is wonderful and what a great idea for the piece on the backing for guests to sign!
